Lolita and high school, what do you think?

Postby Teapartied » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:11 pm

Hey, I'm Kate.
I'm still in highschool and am at a young age. I've been interested in lolita for a long time. It'll still be a bit, but in the near future, I'm finally getting some sweet lolita clothes. I'm especially over joyed with this.
I'm also at a new school and therefor no one exacly knows what to expect from me.
Living in America, and especially the part I am, most people have never heard of such a style or anything similar. I'm a bit happy about that because I like to present something differnt that I'm truly into.
The thing is though, should I wear to school? I want to, but I don't know if it'd be an, erm, appropraite place? I don't know how to put it in words.
If you get what I'm trying to saying, what do you think?
Input much appreciated.
oh! and do yous know of any lolita brand stores in america? It'd be cheaper to buy from here @___@

is LOLITA based on the book by EMILE ZOLA or the film?

could be rather provocative I would imagine.

ah I was wrong about the author of LOLITA it was Vladimir Nabakov.

James Mason starred in the film many years ago> Is this Lolita style connected with the character Lolita from the book or film-- or has it nothing to do with that at all==maybe just a name or even a character in ANIME?

I think Teapartied mean The style of dress Not the movie
She mean the Lolita fashion is primarily influenced by Victorian children's clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period. The Lolita look consists primarily of a knee length skirt or dress, headdress, blouse, petticoat, knee length socks or stockings and rocking horse or high heel/platform shoes. Teddy bears and dolls such as Super Dollfies are often carried to emphasize the childlike look.

It will depend on the dress code at school to see if they will let you ? I have dressed like a lotita its fun!

You can make your own clothes Most girls do! or you go to a thrift store or used clothes store and you can find places on line to buy the items you need

If the school don't have a standard rules for uniform, you have the right to wear lolita clothes. There is no wrong of wearing this kind of clothing in your school. The most important is you are comfortable and happy with this clothing.
