Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots for viewing Cherry Blossom sorted by prefecture. Guide to Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots include descriptions, pictures and map.

Japan is famous for its cherry blossom and the cherry blossom season is one of the most popular times to visit Japan. While most areas of Japan have great cherry blossom, it is generally considered that Yoshino in Nara Prefecture has the best. The Japan Cherry Blossom Association developed a list of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots using the following criteria:

Clearly these criteria will not provide all the top 100 locations, but it is a very good guide to start with. You will notice that many of these locations are situated around Japanese Castles. Below is the list sorted alphabetically within each prefecture.
