Kawaguchiko is one of the best locations to view Mount Fuji. Kawaguchiko is famous for its unobstructed views of Mount Fuji making it is a very popular location to view and photograph Mount Fuji. Kawaguchiko is particularly famous for its views of Mount Fuji in the cherry blossom season and is considered one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots.

Kawaguchiko attractions include museums, art galleries, shrines, temples and onsen. There are also many activities on or associate with the lake including fishing, canoe, motor boat, wake board and water ski. Other sports and actives include Tennis, golf, paragliding, lake cruise and Hiking. There are many hiking courses where you can enjoy panoramic views of Mount Fuji and surroundings.

Technically Kawaguchiko refers to the lake, while the town is actually Kawaguchi, however most people refer to the town as Kawaguchiko. The township, is located on the Southern side of Kawaguchiko, between the lake and Mount Fuji. Kawaguchiko is part of Fuji Five Lakes system, within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
