Introduction

Nara Prefecture attractions include 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Many are in the former capital of Japan, Nara city, including Todaiji Temple, which is famous for being the world’s largest wooden building, which houses Japan’s largest statue of Buddha and the world’s largest bronze statue of Buddha. Nara Prefecture is located in Kansai region on the main island of Honshu.
