Hakata Station is the main railway station in Fukuoka and is the terminus for the Sanyo Shinkansen and Kyushu Shinkansen. Hakata Station was redeveloped in 2011 to service the then new Kyushu Shinkansen. Within the Hakata Station complex is a Hankyu Department Store and Tokyu Hands Store.
