On this 2 and a half hour bike tour of Hida, you will see the history and culture of the area guided by your knowledgeable English-speaking guide.This tour is recommended for beginners of cycling and participants with families. The 7.5 mile (12 km) long route is all flat terrain and has no slopes as it cruises through the graceful town of Hida-Furukawa to a farming village.
The tour will depart from the meetup location at the Furukawa office of local operator in Hida at 10:15am. You will meet with your friendly guide and explore Hida.
Pedaling around Satoyama, spreading just outside of the town, you will reach a water spring from which the locals draw water. This tour stops from time to time at some places of interest for your guide to explain to you regarding history, local food, culture and more. It is also fun to see the different seasonal views and local life of this countryside.
By cycling around various areas that have deep relationships with the town such as fields and a large shrine that the tour stops by on the way, there will be many more things you will notice after coming back to town.
