    Book this full-day cycling tour in Matsushima including one-way train ticket from Tokyo! If you are planning a trip from Tokyo to the Tohoku area and looking for something fun, this is the perfect day tour for you! Matsushima is known as a sightseeing spot for its beautiful nature and also as a historically important area as the base of the famous shogunate Masamune Date – the samurai ruler of the Sendai region who was known as ”Dokuganryu” (one-eyed hero), as he could only see with one eye during the Sengoku (Warring States) period. Having the one-way bullet train ticket mailed to your hotel will also make your trip more hassle-free!Arrive at Tokyo Station around 7:00 am and get ready to board your bullet train heading to Matsushima.

    7:36 am – Your bullet train (shinkansen) departs from Tokyo Station and will arrive at Sendai Station at 9:10 am. You will have approx. 30 mins change to JR Senseki Line.

    9:30 am – Your local train departs from Sendai Station.

    10:11 am – Arrive at Matsushima-Kaigan Station and your guide will be waiting for you at the ticket gate.

    10:30 am – Visit Kanrantei Tea House
    Enjoy a tea ceremony at the Kanrantei Tea House, one of the Miyagi prefecture’s most tangible cultural properties. The tea ceremony will be held in the Goza-no-ma room, which is not open to public. You will have a special access to this room and experience the tea ceremony. Enjoy Japanese traditional green tea with a stunning view of the Matsushima bay.

    11:45 am – Cycling tour with a lunch break
    Visit local, historical sites on a bicycle. This is a great opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Matsushima by seeing their local lifestyle. Visit some of the most popular attractions including the Zuiganji Temple (National Treasure and Important Cultural Property), Godaido Temple (Important Cultural Property), Entsuin Temple, and the Pine Tree of “Saigyo Modoshi”. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) will several options, such as sushi, yakiniku, local izakaya restaurant, seafood, oysters, shojin cuisine (vegetarian), etc.

    3:15 pm – Sightseeing cruise
    Enjoy a short cruise in the Matsushima Bay with mesmerizing landscape from the boat!

    4:15pm – Tour ends at Matsuhima-Kaigan Station.
